Changes to Local Plans According to Act 267
Section 17 – According to Section 17(1) of the Federal Territories (Planning) Act 1982 (Act 267)
The mayor may at any time make proposals to change, supplement, revise, repeal or replace the whole or part of the local plan.
If the mayor thinks that an application that is not in line with the gazetted local plan has merit to be considered for certain reasons, then the local plan needs to be changed first before considering the approval of the planning permission application in accordance with the provisions of Section 17, Federal Territories (Planning) Act 1982, Act 267.
"The implementation of local plan changes has the same process as the preparation of local plans"
