What is a Development Plan?
The Development Plan is a document provided in driving
the direction of Kuala Lumpur's development.
Play a role in determining Policy/Policy, Strategy and Development Control in general and also for each land lot in Kuala Lumpur.
Prepared in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982 (Act 267).
The two main components of the Development Plan are the Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan (KLSP) and the Kuala Lumpur Local Plan (KLLP).

The Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982 (Act 267) interprets the preparation of a development plan as follows:
"Development plan", related to an area, means:
and, in relation to any land or building, means the development plan, as defined, for the area in which the land or building is situated;
According to section 13(1) of the Federal Territory (Planning) Act 1982 (Act 267)
If the structural plan for the Federal Territory has come into force, the Datuk Mayor shall as soon as practicable consider, and thereafter always pay attention to the need to prepare a draft local plan for any part or for the entire Federal Territory and, if he deems it necessary and he has not yet done so, shall prepare the draft local plan.
