Kuala Lumpur Structure Plan 2020 (KLSP2020) is the second structure plan for Kuala Lumpur. KLSP2020 was gazetted on 4 November 2004 (P.U.(B). 423).
The preparation of KLSP2020 is carried out considering that some of the policies of KLSP1984 need to be reviewed due to the trend of globalization which makes the world economy more integrated, the development of information technology (ICT) and the implementation of Agenda 21 towards sustainable development. Apart from that, major developments outside Kuala Lumpur such as the development of the Multimedia Super Corridor (MSC), the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) in Sepang and the relocation of the Federal Government's administrative center to Putrajaya have influenced the growth of Kuala Lumpur. mud
The vision of a World Class City has been the basis for the planning and development of Kuala Lumpur for almost two decades. To achieve that vision, five (5) goals have been identified, namely:
